lossless container
When to convert JPG to PNG
JPEG is lossy — re-saving can add artifacts. Exporting to PNG gives a lossless container for further editing in Photoshop, Figma, or print pipelines.
Note: converting JPG to PNG does not restore detail lost in the original JPEG compression, but it prevents additional loss on the next save.

JPG to PNG output
PNG export is lossless with no quality slider. File size may increase because PNG stores pixels without JPEG compression.
Editing
PNG is widely accepted in design apps and supports alpha if you add transparency later.
Screenshots
Some tools require PNG for crisp UI captures even when the source was JPEG.
Archival
Freeze the current pixel state without further JPEG degradation.
