Which tool do I need?
Start from the category strip above. Convert changes the container the picture lives in. Optimize keeps the format and makes the file smaller. Edit changes what the picture looks like — crop, resize, rotate, exposure, colour. Creative turns a photo into something that is no longer really a photo: pixel art, ASCII, an ink wash. If two categories both look right, you probably want Edit first and Optimize last.
Nothing leaves your device
Every tool here runs on your own machine through the browser Canvas API. Your photos are never uploaded, so there is no queue, no size limit imposed by a server, and no copy sitting in someone else's storage waiting to be deleted. It also means exports drop the metadata: a photo that carried GPS coordinates comes back without them.
Which format should I save as?
WebP gives the smallest files at the same visual quality and works in every current browser. JPG remains the safest choice for photographs going into older software or an upload form that has not been updated in years. PNG is for graphics that need sharp edges or transparency — and the wrong choice for photographs, where it is simply a large JPG that never lost anything.
Working with several files
Batch compress takes up to five images at once and hands back a ZIP. Everywhere else the tools keep your settings while the page is open, so the second and third file are one click each. Resize before compressing when both are needed — most oversized photos are oversized in pixels long before they are oversized in bytes.
